Security and privacy
What stays on your device, and what we can see.
DocuID is built so that readable files never sit on our servers. We can administer access lists and logs. We cannot open your documents.
What stays with you
| Stays with you | Stored for the service (unreadable or metadata) |
|---|---|
| Readable copies of your files | Locked copies nobody can open without you |
| The ability to open them (your vault) | Who has access to what |
| Biometric unlock (never leaves your phone) | Access and activity logs |
| Who you choose to share with | The protected files themselves |
There are no passwords to phish. Files are locked before they are sent. Revoking a share stops future opens even if someone still has a link. The activity log is yours to inspect.
Keep your recovery key safe. If it is lost, we cannot reconstruct your vault. See Vault setup and recovery.
