Sharing

Share a document

Invite people by email or mobile, set access, and revoke later.

Sharing gives named people (or a team) the ability to unlock a file with their own identity. You can take that ability back later, even if they still have a copy of a link.

When you use it

You need someone else to view, download, or update a file that already lives in your workspace.

Start the wizard

From Files open the row menu (···) and choose Share, or use New Share in the sidebar.

Walk the three steps

The wizard steps are Choose file (or Choose files, Choose folder), Set access, and Add people. Starting from a row menu skips step one, because the item is already known.

The share wizard: document, access, and recipients.

Set access and send

Choose view, download, or edit, then add people (email or mobile) or a team. Type an email with no DocuID account and the wizard offers to invite it, with the note "Not a DocuID user yet. Send an invite to claim this share." The share waits in Invitations until the person finishes setup. Review the summary and confirm.
