View a document
Open a file in the browser. It unlocks in memory on this device only.
The viewer unlocks the file in this browser and renders it in place. A readable copy is not written to disk. Closing the tab drops it.
When you use it
You need to read a file you own or that was shared with you, without downloading it.
Open the file
From Files click the file name, or open it from Shared with me. If the vault is locked, approve iVALT first.
Read in the browser
PDFs, Office documents, and images render in the page when the format supports preview. Use page controls, zoom, and (when allowed) print or download.
Respect the access level
View means preview only. Download adds a download control. Edit also lets the owner-approved recipient upload a new version. If a control is missing, your share does not include it.
If something goes wrong
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Vault locked | Approve iVALT, then reopen the file. |
| No download button | Your access is view-only. Ask the owner for download rights. |
| No preview | That format may not preview. Download if your access allows it. |
| Share expired or revoked | The owner must share again. |
